Hey everyone, here's a mod contact post.

You can use it to talk to me, ask me things, let me know when you want something deleted and if there's arguments going on on the meme.

hi mod. I'm the OP for this fill and reading back on it, I'm not exactly sure it matches what the person wanted and I've made some big error's. I wish to re write this. Can you please delete my fill? Thank you times a million.

the AO3 situation

Hi Mod,

While the AO3 thread had been really good, I wonder if it's not getting a bit out of hand now. Maybe you could take a look?

Thanks!

Not the mod.

My two cents is that it not be shut down. People are engaged in respectful dialog about it, and though there are varying opinions, no one is freaking out. Let the respectful dialog continue.

Reprompting?

Hey, mods, thank you for all your time and effort on the meme. We really appreciate your availability and prompt responses.

http://bbcmusketeerskink.dreamwidth.org/2286.html?thread=2600174#cmt2600174

Having noticed the situation in the link above, I'm wondering if the meme should have an official policy on reprompting, or for the times when the same prompt is tweaked just enough so that it's sufficiently changed as not to be a reprompt? I know reprompting is generally against etiquette on kink memes, but I think it would be helpful to have a firm stance either way just so that prompters can be aware.

Thanks for your time, and if the meme already has a policy on reprompting, and I accidentally missed it, I'm sorry.

I was wondering how re-prompting works too.

I've seen slight variations of one prompt idea appear again and again. (Not the same one mentioned above)

Reprompting

da

Personally I think it's bad form to re-prompt since it clutters the new round with old prompts when people (like myself) are still filling prompts from earlier rounds. I also think when the prompts are that detail specific as to be obviously the same prompt, it just annoys me to no end.

On the other hand, I also once (back in round one) put up a prompt for Porthos to have a head injury with some temporary amnesia as a side effect. Two other similar prompts with variations of Porthos/Amnesia and Porthos/head injury had already been posted, but I genuinely had no idea.

Mods, I know you're busy, I'm just seconding the request for the prompt that showed up in the fill post to be deleted. I've included a link below hopefully to make it easier for you.

The prompt itself is fine, but it's in the wrong wrong place and it's irksome to have it there. Please?

Mod, I know I'm harping on this but if your internet is fixed now, can you please please delete the prompt that was accidentally put in the Fill Post?

Hi, Mod--

No idea if you're around at the moment or not, but the Canon or Fanon thread in the discussion post seems to be degenerating rather rapidly after being on a slow simmer for a couple of weeks.

http://bbcmusketeerskink.dreamwidth.org/557.html?thread=2760749#cmt2760749

*sigh* It'll be nice when series 2 airs so we can wank about new stuff instead of tired, old stuff.

:-P

I don't really get this. I've observed a bit of snark and disagreement going on, but does this really warrant a mod freeze?

dear mods
i feel currently very dumb, but I am desperately trying to put the kink meme archive feed into my rss reader

Archive:
https://delicious.com/bbcmusketeers

but for gods sake, i tried to put this link into my feedly reader a dozen times, but it tells me, it doesnt recognize any rss feed.
is anyone of you just by accident know, how i must change the link, so that i can add it to my rss reader for reading?

thanks!

Hi there,
I'm brand new to this whole prompts thing and I keep hearing about it on FF and Archive OOO...

I have no idea how it works, how to get involved on the site, and how to fulfill a prompt, and can you respond to it if someone else already has?

would love info... someone please advise?
I do a lot of writing, currently have a story going on FF and AOOO (An Extraordinary Man)

Appreciate the help! Love my musketeers since I was a young 'un!

Cheers :)

Not the mod, but most of your questions can be answered by reading through the guidelines in the "Round" prompt posts on the main page. The only question of yours that isn't explicitly covered is the one about whether or not more than one fill is allowed for each prompt - and yes, that's totally allowed.

While I agree that it would have been nice for that prompt to have been marked in a more standard fashion, it does say "Finale" right in the subject line.

- Not the mod, obviously.

Is this meme still being actively modded? There are an awful lot of unanswered asks going back a long way. It's contributing to a general air of neglect throughout the comm which seems sad at a time when the show is still airing (just).

Date: 2015-03-23 08:45 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
In my experience here, I don't think this meme has ever been actively modded unless there's been an eruption of drama - and most of that seemed to be decently worked out, more or less, by the participants, with the mod piping up only to nudge things back if they went too far, so I don't know how into modding the mod has ever actually been short of a three alarm fire.

That said, I think the drop off in participation from others is partly explained by the fact that originally this meme was one of the only group fan spaces for fiction writers of the show, and one of the only group fandom spaces for the show period. Now there are many others - tumblr, for instance. I myself do not tumblr, but in reading current fics, it seems many writers get their prompts from over there these days.

Spam on certain threads

Date: 2015-04-30 06:02 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Hi Mod,

I was just wondering - some threads or posts seem to have become really prone to repeated spam posts. Do you see those when they come through? Are you able to delete them?

It's just really bothersome to come across. I don't want the meme to become a repository for spam with no oversight to get rid of it.

Hi, new to this, sorry...

Date: 2015-12-17 09:06 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Hello there. I'm new to all this and I just was hoping you could clear some things up for me like:
(a) how does one know when a round is closed?
(b) what exactly does that mean? Like if I, say, found a prompt in round 2 could I still fill it even if there's a round 3?
and
(c) can more than one person fill the same prompt?

That's all, just hoped to get some help understanding what's what since I've never done this before, please and thank you.

S3

Date: 2016-04-12 07:33 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
I know the meme is pretty dormant, but given how the BBC have royally effed up about the airing of S3, and some countries are getting it now, while the UK won't get it until at least May and the U.S. maybe not at all (or maybe on HULU), can we please have some kind of spoiler rules like we did for S2?

(not the mod)

From what it seems, everyone posting prompts is following the spoiler warning rules already.
