Welcome to the BBC The Musketeers kink meme

The lowdown: You post your prompt, anon or not. Someone else will hopefully fill it (also anon or not). Not for profit, just for fun. And in this case, for king and country.

Anon is on, IP logging is off.

Rules:
No wank
No kink-shaming
Be respectful to everyone
The mod is not your babysitter
Use the warnings

Mandatory trigger warnings/warnings for both prompts and fills:
non-con/dub-con
abuse (physical and mental)
issues such as racism, sexism, homo-/trans-/-bi-/ace-phobia etc
character death
suicide
self-harm
eating disorders
extreme physical or mental illness
substance abuse (alcohol, drugs, medication)
bullying
gore and horror

If this list misses anything, do let me know, though please understand that if absolutely everything is added this list will never end.

You are encouraged and advised to add additional warnings at your own discretion.

Please make use of the subject line.

If your prompt alludes to the book or any of the other adaptations, please let us know which one.

Lastly, prompt freezes (which I have to say I’m really not fond of) etc will be at the mod’s discretion. I will decide on a prompt cut-off point for prompt posts once I know how fast the meme moves.

Rule addition: No more discussions on the prompt post. If you want to discuss something, we have a discussion post. If you want to wank about a prompt, that's not what the discussion post is for. That's what your scroll bar and that little red x in the top corner of your browser is for.

Porthos/Any

Date: 2014-04-02 11:14 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Porthos really likes physical affection
He's not much for flowery words or tokens. He's not the candle-lit dinner type of guy
But his lover (up to author who that is) has noticed that he gets delightfully breathy and flustered if they tease him. He snuggles when they sleep. He's a big, burly man, and he tries to climb into their lap the first chance he gets

Athos/d'Artagnan, D/s and BDSM

Date: 2014-04-03 02:09 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Like many, I've been getting submissive vibes from Athos ever since episode 3 and his fire-filled reunion with Milady. These vibes were helped along by an earlier kink meme request and fill, http://bbcmusketeerskink.dreamwidth.org/774.html?thread=267270#cmt267270 (so good!). What I'd like to see is d'Artagnan/Athos, with dom!d'Artagnan, ideally with a historically anachronistic awareness of Safe, Sane, Consensual, or at the very least, Risk Aware Consensual Kink (by this I mean, SOME communication/attempts at safety, not for them to use the acronyms and have lengthy conversations about safewords, enthusiastic consent, and the traffic-light system).

If it makes it any easy, it could be modern day, genderswap (I'm a fan of femmeslash), a D/s relationship between the two within the context of the OT4, I'm open. I'm just looking for subby!angst-bucket!Athos and Child of Sunshine, Enthusiasm and Stabbing Things!d'Artagnan. (It could even be non!sexual/platonic D/s, where they aren't engaged in a sexual relationship, but Athos finds contentment in being taken out of his head for a little while, and d'Artagnan respects/loves him enough to help by giving him orders. Whatever you feel most comfortable with.)

Athos and Aramis Friendship

Date: 2014-04-03 04:59 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
For some reason, my head-canon for Athos and Aramis is that they were not naturally predisposed towards friendship. Aramis and Porthos share a joviality and playfulness, and Athos and Porthos are alike in their sincerity and force of will (if that makes sense). But Athos and Aramis don't really seem the sort to automatically understand one another. But they are clearly the closest of friends.

So is like something exploring their friendship. Maybe- times they depended on each other. Or times they reached out and found each other there. Just understanding the slightly off-beat closeness that they have.

Yes! I would love this. I'd give it a go myself but got a research report to write and Aramis and Athos' friendship doesn't fit my topic unfortunately.
In my head, I think Aramis has probably softened Athos somewhat- given the way he hung his wife, it strikes me that Athos began life in the Musketeers as black/white kind of guy. Rules are rules! Aramis, however, seems to appreciate the greyer areas of life... Also I always liken them to the captain and doctor on a ship- the captain is in charge until a health matter comes up and then its the doctor all the way. Perhaps this is where the respect grew...

Aramis/Porthos/D'artagnan, romance lessons

Date: 2014-04-03 07:13 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
I'd love to see Aramis sort of joking around about giving D'artagnan lessons on women and D'artagnan slowly realizing that, hm a lot of these lessons seem to center around demonstrating romance techniques for him using Porthos (now watch closely D'artagnan THIS is the proper way to kiss a hand, etc). Where it goes from there is up to the author :)

Aramis the sounding board of all Musketeers

Date: 2014-04-03 07:32 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Aramis appears to be the most approachable of the three.
And I think most of us agree that he has been in the Musketeers the longest.
I can see him being the go to guy for all the Musketeers when they have a problem and need some advise, for medical attention, or anything else really.
Please give me a story where random Musketters (maybe even Treville) show up at his rooms at any time for his help.

Bonus points for Athos and Porthos covering for Aramis and said random Musketeer and d'Artagnan finding out about the whole Situation and being slightly confused.

OT3/4 - Athos and Porthos are cuddlers

Date: 2014-04-03 12:42 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Aramis may be the outwardly demonstrative romantic of the group but behind closed doors, Athos and Porthos are the sweetest, snuggliest pair of cuddlers imaginable. Aramis thinks it's adorable and loves watching them together because while they're not big on flowery words, they're both so tender and gentle in bed that it's beautiful. Bonus if d'Artagnan joins them to form OT4 and is totally stunned by this.

Quick fill, no beta, OT3, cuddling

Date: 2014-04-03 07:17 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
He leaves to answer the call of nature, sticking his bare feet into his boots and pulling Porthos' shirt over his head. The sleeves are too long and the hem reaches all the way down to his knees, but it smells of familiar, comforting things; horses, gun powder and late nights in the tavern.

On his way back up the creaky stairs he listens for sounds from his chamber, but all seems quiet. Pulling off his boots he walks the last bit barefoot, toes curling against the cold floor. If his companions are sleeping then Aramis has no intention of waking them though. It's part kindness and consideration, but also pure self-preservation. Neither one of his lovers make for very pleasant company when they've been deprived of their beauty sleep.

On opening the door and peeking inside, he stops mid-step, all complaints about the cold floor gone as he drinks in the sight of his lovers; the wonderful tangle of limbs and blankets. Porthos has wrapped himself around Athos, while Athos has dug his head into Porthos's shoulder. They're beautiful and Aramis' fingers itch to capture the moment with words. If he can't write poetry about this moment, then what is he meant to serenade?

Instead, he makes his way past the piles of boots and abandoned clothing, undressing as he goes until he stands, buck naked, at the end of the bed. He kneels down beside them, listening to Porthos' sleepy snuffle and watching Athos chest rise and fall, suddenly unsure of his next step. There's enough space on either side of them for him, but on seeing their easy embrace he suddenly aches with the need of warm skin and steady heart-beats.

He's still thinking when a hand shoots out and pulls him down into the middle of the bed.

"Sleep," Porthos orders, pinning him down with a heavy arm as Athos, blinking at him like a dismayed owl, crawls up into Aramis' arms. Yawning, he then presses his back against Aramis chest and Aramis, eager to provide, tugs him close.

If they were cats, Aramis suspects the two of them would be purring. As it is, Athos just presses his lips against Aramis' knuckles while Porthos sniffs his hair, humming a content little noise. Aramis smiles, a wide and goofy smile that no one but the two men sharing his bed will ever see.

Tomorrow will be a good day. He can feel it in his bones.

Aramis - impotency means loss of intimacy

Date: 2014-04-03 01:36 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
I'm not looking for crack. I can see Aramis as someone who enjoys sex, but who uses it in part to get the intimacy he craves and needs.

What if with the situation with his lost love Isabelle dying and Anne being pregnant, he finds himself unable to take any pleasure in sex. Either he can't get hard, or he can't stay hard, or he ejaculates too soon. Or he's just disinterested. He's suffering from the lack of intimacy (and perhaps he is also ashamed.)

I'd like the other to step in and provide comfort - either friendship, or beginning a relationship with him. Can be a combination of one or any.

More Treville Love - h/c

Date: 2014-04-03 02:12 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
The Captain is seriously wounded and for a while it looks like he might not survive. Athos, Porthos and Aramis do not handle this well and d'Artagnan suddenly realises for the first time just how much his friends love and admire the man and how much he has done for them.

Hurt/comfort abound - preferably with Treville recovering and being very touched at their behaviour.

Porthos forced to whip Aramis

Date: 2014-04-03 04:00 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Inspired in part by Howard Charles 'talent' on his actor page; (whipping, exactly how?) and also because I felt the murder of 'Adele', and the Cardinal's anger at Aramis hasn't really been addressed.

I'd like to see the Cardinal take his revenge. He has one of his henchmen hold a musket on Athos, while he forces Porthos to whip Aramis. Cue angst, guilt and h/c. I can see Athos in my head ordering the henchman to shoot and begging Porthos to stop, and poor Porthos being completely destroyed by the fact that he has to hurt one friend to save another.

Date: 2014-04-03 04:11 pm (UTC)

Athos/Ninon

Date: 2014-04-03 07:16 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
I'm a sucker for some good old-fashioned romance and liked Ninon, so here it comes: I want to see those two falling in love post series 1. Maybe village where Ninon stays and teaches is somewhere near Paris, and queen never lost sight of Ninon so she steers Athos in the right direction, or Musketeers ride through the village and recognise her, whatever. I'd like to see them two slowly falling for each other, with Ninon getting to talk to Athos on things she never has chance to talk with the villagers, like her precious philosophy for example, and Athos relaxing around her, watching her teach or falling asleep in her embrace (give him love and cookies, yay!). Smth slow and even quiet.
Bonus if other Musketeers eventually suspect and find this out, but will keep it secret from him, just bit of happy hinting around.

FILL: An Anatomy of the Human Heart 1a

Date: 2014-04-17 04:48 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
His first thought was that the book was intended as some kind of threat. If so, it was both a subtle and an expensive one -- the pocket-sized volume was new and was printed on good quality paper in two ink colours, so that the blood flowed bright red through the thick-lined block-printed diagrams detailing what the title described as An Anatomy of the Human Heart.

There were no forget-me-nots pressed between the pages and it didn’t seem like her style anyway. But who else would send him such a strange thing anonymously? The parcel had made the final stage of its voyage by urchin, who dropped it at the garrison gate and fled without even waiting for a tip, so there was no clue there.

After puzzling over it alone for the best part of a night and a day, Athos dropped the book onto the tavern table in front of his friends. Aramis picked it up and leafed through the pages.

“Not exactly your usual choice in bedtime reading my friend,” he said after a few moments, holding it open at one of the more red and gory diagrams for the others to grimace over.

“It was delivered to me yesterday at the garrison with no note from the sender. Do you think it’s intended as some kind of message?”

“Perhaps someone wanted to remind you that you have one -- a heart that is,” suggested Porthos. Athos glared. Yes he’d spent years trying to hide it, but surely his friends had seen a little too much of his battered heart of late to mock it so. “Not any of us obviously! I only meant...”

“A secret admirer maybe?” said D’Artagnan, conveniently saving Porthos from having to explain. “Don’t sweethearts sometimes send paper hearts?”

“It’s a fairly gruesome kind of paper heart,” said Athos.

“This from the man who when invited by a woman to dine, took her for a pleasant jaunt to the morgue,” teased Aramis, glancing back up from the pages of the book.

Oh, thought Athos. Of course.

As the others began a game of naming the least romantic places in Paris, he sat back and indulged the thought of Ninon in her far distant school, remembering him in some small fashion. And his heart felt an awful lot lighter than the book claimed that it should weigh.

Role reversal: the Queen's Musketeers

Date: 2014-04-03 07:42 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
So imagine a world in which women are the dominant sex, not men. A matriarchy in which royalty passes down the female line and women are in charge.

What I'm after is an all-female musketeers; I'm picturing Milady, Ninon and Flea being joined by Constance, the fiery new recruit to Queen Anne's Musketeers. I'm also picturing Anne not only being queen, but also being more of a Treville role - actively commanding the musketeers like the fierce badass she is.

I'd love to see anything with this, really; an adventure, a slice of their everyday lives, fluff, angst, back story, whevs. I would REALLY love, however, to see Constance and d'Artagnan's romance - he's married to a seamstress who doesn't love him, he's surviving but not really living, and then Constance explodes into his life and kisses him in the market. Major bonus points for their version of that lovely, "teach me how to shoot" scene! Also for showing us what the rest of the boys are up to - is Porthos still at the Court? Is Athos a drunkard, is he a spy, is he somewhat more towards doing what Ninon was, providing boys with an education and facing society's suspicions because of it? I have no idea what Aramis could be doing, despite him being my favourite!

Go wild, anon! Entertain us with badass women in leather with swords! X!

Constance/D'Artagnan, lesbians

Date: 2014-04-03 08:40 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
D'Artagnan is a woman in disguise. She's never been particularly feminine, and she's safer on the road dressed as a man. When her father is killed, she hides as a man to kill Athos, and when she learns the Musketeers are friends, she doesn't reveal herself so she can become one.

Constance figures her out quickly, and keeps her secret. Constance is either a lesbian in an an unhappy arranged marriage or bisexual but still not in love with her husband. She falls for D'Artagnan, who has pretty much been in love with her from the first day.

Some plot would be lovely, but I never say no to straight up porn, either.

Okay so in the last episode when they're all crouched over him and Porthos is the one pleading with him to stay awake (that is what he said, I put the iplayer subtitles on) So just something do do with that. And they looked genuinely distraught because this wasn't part of the plan, so just how worried they are and stuff. Can be fluffy or angsty, I don't really mind, but I just will never be over Porthos' slapping d'Art's cheek to try and wake him, whilst Aramis just puts his head in his hands despairingly - maybe his thoughts go back to Marsac? And how awful he knew Athos must feel, standing there, not able to do anything to help without giving away their plan.
I don't mind what you do with it, just give me feels please. Lots of feels.

Darling, you asked. So how could I not.

(Sorry, it's all angst and no fluff.)

Basically, I want to see a conversation between two characters where character A has inexplicable injuries and character B asks if character A's partner is hurting them. I'd like it to transpire that there is a perfectly reasonable (if unorthodox), non-abusive explanation for the injury.

Maybe learning to fight has given Constance bruises, Aramis notices and asks her about D'Artagnan? Maybe Athos and Porthos are in a BDSM relationship and the rope burn is completely safe and consensual? Maybe Treville really did walk into a door in the palace one day, and he's had enough of his musketeers questioning his relationship with the cardinal?

Any pairing will do, any scenario will do, I just want someone getting the wrong end of the stick and being a good friend and the person they're concerned over being touched that they were worried and then having to awkwardly explain that everything's actually fine.

AU with everybody at La Fère

Aramis, Porthos and d'Artagnan work on the estate of Athos, the Comte de la Fère. Aramis and Porthos have long positions there, and they have known Athos since they were all young. D'Artagnan is newish on the scene.

Let's say Athos is still a soldier, albeit a noble officer, and he still is tortured by the events of his past with his wife and brother. In fact, he hates the estate, he hates his position, he hates his life. His only saving grace is that he is in the field or on campaign most of the time, so he doesn't have to be home at the hated place.

And then he takes a wound, and is forced to go back to the estate, a fate he considers worse than death.

But he has people there, even if he thinks he's alone. They know him. They love him. And they commit themselves to saving his life.

Beauty and the Beast AU

With Athos as the beast (metaphorically speaking, of course) and d'Artagnan as Belle?

Aramis as Lumiere, if you're taking the Disney route, and Porthos as whomsoever you desire.

TW: Non-con, d'Artagnan

The boys are in a cell and the guards take d'Artagnan out and rape him in front of the others.

I just want to see their reactions as they put it together - Porthos angry at everyone for not being able to do anything, Athos sick because he's supposed to protect them, Aramis wanting to help but not knowing how, and d'Artagnan in denial and pretending nothing happened and hating himself because he thinks he "should be stronger" or something.

Hopeful, if not happy, ending would be appreciated. Where they all kind of start to heal a little bit, together. (Though no magical sexual healing, please)

Athos/Porthos, Reassurance

From: (Anonymous)
As we saw, Porthos was quite affected by the possibility of Athos's death at the fake funeral. After everything is done and over with, he keeps close to Athos, wanting to be reassured that the man won't be leaving them (or him) anytime soon.

And Athos realizes that Porthos cares -- REALLY cares about his continued existence, and it's a bit enlightening for him, maybe.

Gen, Athos' shot is fatal

From: (Anonymous)
I looked, but I didn't quite see this, so: season finale AU where Athos does end up killing D'Artagnan when he fakes the shot. What happens next? I'd really like to see the boys' grief, especially as that hug showed they had gotten as close as we all imagine. But also want to see the fallout with the plan because that could have seriously screwed them. As far as the public is concerned, a drunk Athos just killed a fellow musketeer and took a woman hostage. That's punishable by death & he's already been accused once. No longer able to find out what the Cardinal knows, Treville doesn't have any solid explanation for the king or queen either. What of the regiment's rep? This could end with a more powerful Cardinal as opposed to what they were aiming for. I could see Athos believing he deserves punishment. How does Milady react? Bonus if she finds out what was supposed to happen.
And Constance? Her last words to D'Art were when she broke it off.

Cleaning up after battle

I want to see the Musketeers cleaning up after a big battle. Maybe at the camp outside La Rochelle after some intense fighting. I'd like to see them take off their uniforms and wash the blood off their hands and slowly let the adrenaline run out of their systems and then try to shrug off the events of the day. Patch up anything that needs patching- you know. Taking care.

Any/no pairing fine- I just want to see them exhausted and dirty and wandering their way back to equilibrium.
