Welcome to the BBC The Musketeers kink meme

The lowdown: You post your prompt, anon or not. Someone else will hopefully fill it (also anon or not). Not for profit, just for fun. And in this case, for king and country.

Anon is on, IP logging is off.

No wank
No kink-shaming
Be respectful to everyone
The mod is not your babysitter
Use the warnings
No prompts with characters under the age of 16 in sexual situations, please.
Please keep the discussions in the prompt post to a minimum. We have a discussion post

Mandatory trigger warnings/warnings for both prompts and fills:
abuse (physical and mental)
issues such as racism, sexism, homo-/trans-/-bi-/ace-phobia etc
character death
eating disorders
extreme physical or mental illness
substance abuse (alcohol, drugs, medication)
gore and horror

If this list misses anything, do let me know, though please understand that if absolutely everything is added this list will never end.

You are encouraged and advised to add additional warnings at your own discretion.

Please make use of the subject line.

If your prompt alludes to the book or any of the other adaptations, please let us know which one.

Lastly, prompt freezes (which I have to say I’m really not fond of) etc will be at the mod’s discretion. I will decide on a prompt cut-off point for prompt posts once I know how fast the meme moves.

I want musketeers as Avengers. Nuff said.

FILL: A Time Bomb (TW: alcoholism)

Date: 2014-04-27 09:14 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
You know what, I'm down for this, let's go. And if you think I'm missing the chance to make a "Milady de Winter Soldier" joke you are SO WRONG.

TW for alcoholism as consistent with both canons

They first spot her in the course of a normal mission, which for them means everything has gone horribly wrong and Aramis has already fallen off of two buildings. Porthos caught him both times, of course, but it's still an indicator that things aren't exactly proceeding successfully.

"Oh for Frigga's sake, MOVE!" Constance yells at D'Artagnan, who turns around to say something very indignant about her tone and then flattens himself to the ground as a bolt of lighting singes the air where his head should be. Behind him the giant inter-dimensional ant (don't ask) explodes with a sulfurous bang.

"Um." D'Artagnan puts a hand gingerly on his helmet and feels cooling heat and a hint of static. "UM."

"Oh, buck up, it missed you by a mile." Constance gives him a hand to his feet and claps him on the shoulder which is apparently Asguardian for 'good job.'

"Lady Thor, if you would be kind enough not to decapitate a national icon, we would be most--"

Athos' voice in their comms cuts off in a crackle of static, and they turn to look at the hovering suit inquiringly. Several ant bodies around him are smoking husks riddled with repulsor blast holes, but there are more pressing in and he doesn't seem to be paying attention to them any more. An arrow from Aramis (he's found a good spot on top of a building that at least looks a little more structurally stable than the last two) whizzes through and buries itself in an ant's eye. It keens shrilly and keels over right next to Iron Man, and still he doesn't move.

"...Athos?" D'Artagnan eventually ventures, fully expecting the sharp "No names on comms!" reprimand to come immediately. There's no response. He turns to try to follow the gaze of the suit, and just there, in the lee of some rubble, something metal flashes. D'Artagnan peers closer, and he could swear he sees someone there. He gets a flash of long dark hair that as always stirs memories of times gone by...but the next minute Porthos throws one giant ant into two more with a ground-shaking impact, and when D'Artagnan looks up again the figure is gone.

"Athos?" he says again, and this time there's the answering click in his ear and the cool, seemingly completely collected voice answers, "Code names only on unsecure lines, Captain."

"Right. Sorry."

D'Artagnan frowns and scurries over to where the Black Widow has carved out a bit of a bulkhead in the rubble. He ducks behind it with her just in time to deflect a gout of flame with his shield. (Yes, the ants breathe fire. Seriously, don't ask.)

"That was weird, right?" he asks. She doesn't spare him a glance, her gaze not wavering from taking aim and firing steadily. D'Artgnan punches an ant in the face a few times until he feels its skull crumple, then roundhouse kicks it away. "I think it was weird. Don't you think it was weird?"

" was weird," Black Widow admits eventually, probably only to get him to go away.

"That's what I'm saying," he agrees, satisfied, and bashes an ant in the face with his shield.

"It was definitely weird," Aramis agrees from behind them. He and Black Widow bump fists companionably (she'll look away from her guns for him, D'Artganan notes sulkily) before ducking, reloading their respective projectiles, and rising back up to shoot in perfect unison.

"Porthos thinks it's weird too," Aramis adds.

"Great. Now that we've established that it's weird, can I get some elbow room?" Black Widow asks sweetly, and the two men know better than to not take the hint.

There's no chance to ask Athos about it after the battle; he shuts himself in his workshop immediately and is either drinking, working or both. Either way he won't come out for at least 12 hours if the pattern hold true.

As is their habit, Aramis and Porthos hole up in Porthos' room. Turning back from The Hulk is hard on him, and he always says Aramis' field medicine does better for him than any doctor could. D'Artagnan is trying to think of a way to break it to them gently that that euphemism was old back in 1945. When, by the way, homosexuality did in fact already exist.

Constance disappears to wherever gods go in their time off, and Black Widow does the equivalent for spies. Only D'Artagnan is left without a real post-mission routine, unless one counts brooding on battles past and friends lost.

He can't get that flash of dark hair out of his mind. He misses all of his comrades, but the one he misses most, the one who he couldn't save...well, she had dark hair just like that, once upon a time.

In case it wasn't clear in the fic, this ridiculous crossover stars:
Athos as Iron Man
D'Artagnan as Captain France
Aramis as Hawkeye
Porthos as The Hulk
Constance as Thor
Christine Marie (the Duchess of Savoy whose name WAS NOT IN THE EPISODE, I had to resort to Wikipedia, rude) as Black Widow
Milady de Winter as The Winter Soldier who I guess served with D'Artganan, was frozen, became The Winter Soldier, did something horrible to Athos (maybe killed his parents if we're going by the MCU?) and then disappeared

Outside view of last episode

Date: 2014-04-24 09:25 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
There was a lot of deception going on in the last episode in order to catch out Milady and the Cardinal, but they weren't the only ones being deceived.

There are more musketeers in the regiment and I would like to know what one of these other Musketeers thought as they watched the close group of four - whom they all know are Trevilles favourites - supposedly fall apart. I want to know what they think about Athos shooting D'Artagnan and vice versa. What did they think of the funeral? Aramis didn't look overly upset, did they think him rude? And I kind of have a picture in my head of D'Artagnan returning to the barracks without the others at the end before Treville can clear his name and the other musketeers confront him for killing Athos. Maybe Aramis and Porthos step in and everyone is disgusted/ confused why they are protecting him until Athos appears from Trevilles office(Confusing them more) followed an annoyed Treville who tells the four that they weren't supposed to appear until he'd had a chance to explain to the rest of the regiment, and he hadn't yet had a chance due to the number of bodies they had just left in one of the main streets of Paris.

Sorry that a bit long but yeah - Basically an outsider musketeers point of view of the last episode and its aftermath.
And I will love you forever if anyone manages to fill this :)

Athos and Aramis did not get along from the start. Maybe there was some rivalry between them, and maybe something else. In any case, they barely endured each other's presence. Then Treville, being a wise captain, sends them both for a job away from Paris, so they could know each other better. But, as usual, something goes wrong.

The result exceeds all expectations, as after their returning they are not only closer, but becomes best fucking friends.

You can include Porthos and make it brot3 or even ot3 if you want, but I really prefer gen with concentration on Athos and Aramis relations.

Grandpa Richelieu

Date: 2014-04-25 02:31 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Let's start with something easy.
Considering that Louis XIV was born in 1638, I have the feeling that we are going to get a lot of angst next season.
For fiction's sake, I want you to forget history and let Anne give birth to an healty child.
Now, let's complicate things a little bit.
There is a nice prompt in round 1, that is currently being filled and that gave me an idea. In this prompt, anon asked for Aramis as the Cardinal's son.
I'm pretty sure you are starting to see where this is going...
Not only I want Aramis as Richelieu's son, I want Anne and Aramis' kid as Richelieu's son.
In other words give me grandpa Richelieu.
Up to you if you want it to be serious or funny or whatever. Just show me the Cardinal dealing with his newfound role as grandfather!

Re: Grandpa Richelieu

Date: 2014-04-25 03:27 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
How sad is it that this was one of the first things I thought of when the baby thing happened. But I love the stories coming from that prompt.

And surely he will not object to his own grandchild on the throne. So whatever happens in the show (or not, as he’s disappearing next season), in this fanfic-land the Cardinal might just leave poor Queen Anne and the baby alone.

Basically: Seconded!
From: (Anonymous)
Our inseparable trio have been there for each another for some time - Athos needs to be in control; Porthos likes to take care of his lovers; Aramis like to be cared for and have everything taken out of his hands. It works well for them. Then they decide to bring in d'Artagnan, who is slightly uncertain - the way they seem to 'use' Aramis for their own pleasure makes him uneasy... until he realises how much Aramis loves it, and how careful they are with him. He sees it's clear they all respect and care deeply for one another. He then becomes eager to learn.

Cue Athos, Porthos...and Aramis instructing an eager young d'Artagnan how to be a good dom.
From: (Anonymous)
In an AU Athos never gave up being Comte de la Fere but did go and join the Musketeers after all the shit happened with Milady whom he thinks died, five years later he is betrothed and expecting to be wed to the Comte d`Artagnan`s son Charles d`Batz Castlemore.

However on the way to Paris Alexandre Comte d`Artagnan is killed by Red Gaurds posing as Musketeers, d`Artagnan continues to Paris to seek out Athos help in getting justice and will only agree to wedding Athos if he is allowed to become a Musketeer himself.

Athos has a town house in Paris, Bonacieux is his Valet and Constance the House Keeper to keep their characters in the fic, and Milady is working for the Cardinal and is certainly not happy about Athos getting a new chance at love with d`Artagnan.

Episode eight AU TW Prostitution and abuse

Date: 2014-04-25 08:53 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
In an AU, after d`Artagnan is dumped by Constance and believes he has lost any chance at becoming a Musketeer, instead of going to the Palace to watch the fight between Treville and LaBarge, he packs his things and leaves Paris.

A year later on a mission in Orleans, Athos, Porthos, and Aramis meet d`Artagnan again, finding him working in a bording house/brothel as a prostitute for a brutal pimp and notorious criminal whom they are intending to take down.

Can they save d`Artagnan from a life on the streets and bring him back to where he belongs
d`Artagnan/O3 please or d`Artagnan/Athos

Aramis: Soldiering day in, day out

Date: 2014-04-25 11:02 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)

Aramis has been at this shit for years. Perhaps one day while sparring etc for the umpteenth time, he decides enough is enough and he wants to catch a break. Perhaps the others can take bets on how long it is before he returns from his break given that he's a soldier through and through. Perhaps while on his break, he still manages to end up in a fight/danger...

Yeah, so just something involving Aramis wanting a break, not quite getting one but he goes back to work with renewed purpose anyway.

Would like it to be humourous with maybe a touch of concern from d'Artportathos as to why their brother has just suddenly snapped...

Athos/Milady Rumours

Date: 2014-04-26 07:15 am (UTC)
cat_13145: (Default)
From: [personal profile] cat_13145
Based on Armis remark of "You're the Count de la Fère" and the fact that I highly doubt even in the period you could hang your wife without anyone else finding out about it.

So give the me the rumours about what happened up there. Do any of them get near the truth or are they a million miles away (e.g. Athos caught Milady and his brother together, killed his brother and hung his wife, just an idea)? Do other Muskeeters hear them? How they stop themselves from reacting when they know who Athos is? How does Athos react

Bonus points for Milady/The Cardinal fanning these rumours with a few of their own

Athos, d`Artagnan, Athos is d`Artagnan's father

When Milady fled Athos, she also took their small child (possibly Athos believed that the child had being killed along with his brother). She abandons the baby in Gascony, where he is taken in by d`Artagnan's father. d`Artagnan grows up believing his mother abandoned him and that his father didn't want him.

When Milady meets d`Artagnan in Paris (please first seduction scene not happening, though I understand if people want it),she realises who d`Artagnan and what a hold it will give her over Athos if she tells him about his son.

Bonus points for Athos figuring it out on his own.

Labarge attacks d'Artagan's family farm long before the series start. Rather than killing d'Artagan, as he did to the boy's father and mother, he takes d'Artagan along for ...companionship.

The Muskeeters are dispatched from Paris to end Labarge's reign of terror. When they capture Labarge, they find d'Artagan and make the decision to bring him back to Paris as a witness.

Only after x years of imprisonment, rape and general mindfuckery, d'Artagan isn't sure that he believes them or wants to go with them. Cue a very long, very strange ride back to Paris.

Happy ending please.

Aramis being poisoned; mistaken for illness

Date: 2014-04-26 03:48 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Not sure what warnings to put on this, sorry. Maybe medical/illness?

This might work better as a modern au, but I have no preference. I'd just like it if someone was slipping Aramis poison, and he's steadily declining. But it's been treated as sickness/illness since no one knows. (Perhaps he occasionally seems to recover, when the poisoner hasn't been able to administer it for a few days)

I'd be happy with gen, or any slash pairing, or OT3. I'd like the poisoner to be found out eventualy, and for Aramis to make a full recovery. But before that happens his friends/lovers worry and take care of him while he is ailing.

Aramis, Masochism

Date: 2014-04-27 02:00 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
It's more-or-less canon! I just want more of Aramis enjoying a bit of pain/violence in his sex. Anything.

-Whipping as punishment doesn't work and just gets really awkward for everyone involved (or Aramis has to drag Porthos aside afterwards for sex)
-Aramis has a lot of unexplainable scars and bruises (because they know when he gets hurt), so he avoids taking his shirt off around the others
--Alternately, D'Artagnan is upset by the marks on his back and worried about Aramis being in some sort of trouble, and Athos and Porthos have to take him aside and explain awkwardly
-Plain old porn of violently rough sex and Aramis being dominated

+1 for Aramis/Porthos

Anne's never known how to give herself a hand, which given the state of her love life, makes things pretty depressing all around. Then Milady gives her lessons in manual orgasm. Maybe they could practice on each other!

Flea has to go into hiding, maybe she comes across some information vital to the state. She goes to Porthos for help, and somehow ends up undercover as a Musketeer (Maybe Treville's in on it?)

not an exact crossover, but I couldn't figure out how else to describe what I want. I want the all the characters around to learn about what happens between them as some kind of 'this is you in another life' thing. A witch did it, idk. I just can't stop picturing the awkward silence after they see that scene from Skins play out (for anyone who doesn't know, Hugo Speer murders Luca Pasqualino on the show Skins. You can yt the specific scene, freddie dies on skins). Maybe somebody wants to taunt them about how close~ the musketeers think they'd always be? Maybe somehow deep down the Cardinal is behind this so a bonus could be Malcolm from Thick of It being shown too. Retaining his position through the ages (more or less) would make him look good. Make the afterwards angsty, make it humorous, I'm open to both.

You can handwave the rest of them if you want, whatever magic is making this happen couldn't conjure up their lives.

Lots of fresh baked cookies to anyone who would take this on. Please!
From: (Anonymous)
I'd like to see Queen Anne, a couple of years before the show, seeing violence for the first time. Maybe she's not very experienced with public life, she'd always lead a very secluded, sheltered life, and she doesn't take a threat seriously, forcing her guard (any or all of the Musketeers, plus Treville, if you are feeling like granting wishes) into a situation that they know is dangerous but without being able to talk down their young queen. Because she's the damn Queen. (She's not evil or careless, just naive and inexperienced- not the cunning badass she is by the time the series rolls around)

And then shit gets nasty. And she sees her Brave Boys fighting for all of their lives and she suddenly realizes the depth and horror of their jobs when she had only seen them as cumbersome decoration. Bonus points for Treville barking orders and Anne being pressed into service keeping pressure on a wound or something. I would love it if she went from liking the musketeers, and enjoying their company, to respecting and admiring their skills, and maybe getting a little maternal about their welfare, promising herself that she wouldn't put herself in danger through carelessness again, for their sakes.
From: (Anonymous)
I really really like this. Very excited to explore Anne's character independent of Aramis.
This is very very interesting, and I would love to have a go at it. But it might take some time, so if someone's muse awakens, go right ahead.
OP brilliant prompt!

Anne is married at 14 to a boy-king she knows nothing about and has no affection for. She's brought to a foreign court full of people who are respectful and solicitous, but it seems to her that they always keep their distance and favour the king in all things.

Treville, a young captain charged with the queen's safety, always treats her like she is a real person - the queen, yes, but also a young girl who is lonely and constantly worries about making blunders on public occasions.

So long story short, Anne secretly develops the biggest crush on Treville and it's really cute.

d`Artagnan feels guilty for sleeping with Athos Wife, even though he had no idea who she was at the time.

He can not forgive himself for it, can not accept that Athos does not blame him, or see any reason to hold a grudge against him, would not even punch him when it was first discovered before the plan to trick her and Richelieu was was laid.

Now after everything is said and done, d`Artagnan is still reeling with guilt and self hate, deciding to punish himself.
Fasting to the point of starving himself, denying himself any forms of pleasure, and self harming by way of chastising himself for his sins.

Eventually Athos finds out what is going on and reacts with horror at what d`Artagnan is doing to himself, however after d`Artagnan begs him Athos agrees to deliver the punishment that d`Artagnan is so desperate for.

BDSM Slash, whipping, and forceful sex with d`Artagnan bottom.

Not your usual order ;-)

So, let's shake things up ;-) (tiny tw for non-ideal eating habits)

1) In most stories, they're all written as stoic when injured... let's have Aramis be an (adorable) whimp with a super-low pain treshold.

2) Usually our angsty heroes suffer from insomnia in fics... let's have Athos be near impossible to wake up in the mornings. Regardless of whether he's been drinking or not.

3) Equally, skipping meals is a sure fire way for the reader to know that something bad is up with the main character... let's have Porthos grumpily eating his feelings (Though without crossing the border into eating disorder land, please. More like the 1630 equivalent of eating too much ice-cream while watching bad tv.)

4) And let's not forget the silent brooding over a drink (or ten)... let's have d'Artagnan be a super-chatty drunk who talks for hours about his heart-aches only to forget all about it by morning.

(I love reading -- and writing -- fics where they're stoic, sleep poorly and skip meals, etc when upset btw. This is in no way me dissing such yummy h/c!)

Hey a little change is always nice to shake things up a bit. Especially when the proposed alternatives are so delightfully hilarious.
Seconded with all my heart!
