Two women interacting

Date: 2014-10-13 04:59 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
I'd like to see a fic where two women who don't interact (much) in canon meet up. Some suggestions:
- Adele and/or Alice visits Ninon's salon.
- A young Flea learns a trick or two from Milady
- Fleur contemplates her future and gets career advice from the Mother superior.
- Christine sneaks away to visit Marie.
- Queen Anne and Charlotte Mellendorf has a rather awkward meeting sometime between episode nine and ten.

Femslash welcome but not necessary.
From: (Anonymous)
I hope OP doesn't mind Flea/Ninon (with cameo OT3!Porthos and hints of past Flea/Porthos and Ninon/Athos)

Includes canon-era-typical internalised homophobia.

‘Porthos, you know I love you but how many times do I have to tell you, we smuggle goods not bleeding people! Do you even know what the markup value is on a person? Bloody nothing, that’s what! Bring me some commodities and we’re talking but for god’s sake…’ Flea rolled her eyes at the musketeer who was standing sheepishly in front of her asking for a favour. Again.

‘You know I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important.’ He said, patiently and oh so calmly like he knew would annoy her to no end. She didn’t even know why they bothered having this conversation. They both already knew she was going to agree. He had that look in his eye that she could never say no to.

‘Fine. But you owe me. Again. Who’s the cargo this time?’

‘Her name is Comtesse Ninon De Larroque. The cardinal’s accusing her of witchcraft and taking advantage of young girls and she’ll be executed if we can’t get her out of the country. We’ve found a way to smuggle her out of her cell tomorrow night. We can get her here if you can hide her until the search dies down and then get her to England. She has connections there.’

‘Fine. Bring her direct to my rooms through the south entrance. I’ll tell the boys to be on the lookout for you tomorrow night. She’d better not be averse to hiding in the court for a few weeks. The first ship we’ve got for England leaves Calais in three and a half weeks. Jacques and his lot have got a shipment of wine going. I can get her a space with them.’
Porthos’ face lit up in that grin that Flea had missed so much in the years where she hadn’t seen him.

‘Why do you care so much about some rich noblewoman? You haven’t thrown your brothers over for some fine, fancy lady without coming to me first, have you?’ Flea teased before she could stop herself. It was more curiosity that jealousy, she rationalised. That grin seemed odd to be for someone that he had no business knowing well, but she was reasonably sure there had been no variation from that the stuttered admission made in the dark on that night of all nights that he had found love with his brothers in the Musketeers and proved Charon’s vicious speculation over the years to be a hell of a lot more accurate than she had ever believed. So why he would care so much about this woman she didn’t know.

‘She made Athos smile’ He answered with his face oddly frozen and suddenly she felt awkward and guilty for bringing it up.

‘Alright. I’ll get her out safe. You have my word.’ She made sure she caught his eye so he knew that she understood that this mattered.

Flea inwardly curses herself and Porthos in equal measure as she awaits the first indication that they’ve arrived. As if smuggling across the English border wasn’t risky enough without trying to hide errant nobles with the cargo- she’s under no illusion that this Ninon de Larroque will be able to blend with a crew like Jacques, or even consent to travel with such clearly ill-bred scoundrels. Porthos is going to seriously owe her for this one.

A coded knock on the roof of her rooms indicates that the first of the sentinels posted across Paris has caught sight of the party of musketeers and the mysterious Comtesse entering the city. Showtime, she supposes, shrugging herself into some more appropriately ‘Court of Miracles’ clothing. She said she’s protect the Comtesse- she didn’t say anything about pandering to the social delicacies of the nobility. Like hell will she compromise her court for anyone.

Ninon didn’t like to admit to being intimidated. She had spent too many years in court with men who thought they could break her arguments with a few well placed threats to bend easily. But even she could admit that the Court of Miracles was terrifying. If she hadn’t been assured by Porthos and Athos that the powers that be (who knew that this place was controlled!!) had promised her safe passage, she would never have dared to venture further than the first few steps into this place. Even the Red Guards wouldn’t search for her here. That at least was a comfort.

‘Not much further now,’ Athos muttered in front of her. She could barely make out the outline of his back. The lighting in this place was terrible compared to the palace, but she supposed that would make it easier to disappear into the shadows. That’s certainly what Porthos had done. She assumed he was still leading their party but she couldn’t see him at all. For such a bulky man, he managed to disappear in here remarkably easily. She wondered what his history with the place was. Athos had assured her that it was on Porthos’ authority that she had safe passage through here, and that it was his connection with the King of the Court that had enabled her to secure a space on a smuggling vessel to England.

Suddenly, as if by some unspoken signal, what little light there was shuttered out and she felt rough hands grab her and wrap coarse fabric over her eyes. Panic rose in her throat as she was manhandled forward but she crushed it down, forcing herself to trust Athos, to trust Porthos. Anything would be better than burning. Even being murdered by cutthroats in the court of miracles.

After an interminable amount of time being pushed and prodded and directed through such a confusing maze that Ninon was relatively sure she would never be able to navigate her way to the King of the Court of Miracles ever again (surely the object of the exercise), Ninon found herself being pushed to a standstill.

‘Comtesse Ninon de Larroque?’ she heard a voice call out from somewhere nearby.

‘That is my name. To whom do I have the honour of speaking?’ she replied in her crispest court tones.

‘I am the King of the Court of Miracles’ the voice continued.

Suddenly, Ninon felt the blindfold fall from her eyes and blinked as even the candlelight that illuminated the dark figure in front of her was momentarily too bright. ‘My name’s Flea’

Ninon squinted as her eyes readjusted to the light.
‘You’re a woman.’ She stated bluntly, more from shock than anything else. Athos had only ever referred to the King of the Court of Miracles. She had assumed that he’d been talking about a man.

‘A woman and a king? Anything really is possible in the court of miracles…’

‘Do you have a problem? Because I know some other people that don’t think women can be kings, and they’d be very interested in listening to your bullshit opinions while they set you on fire, so I suggest you keep them to yourself.’

‘You misunderstand me, your majesty’ The other woman’s eyes flashed and Ninon realised that she probably sounded sarcastic, using that title in her crisp court accent for this woman king of a Court whose rules she didn’t understand. ‘No, I am being sincere. I never thought I would live to see the day where a woman could rule as a King. I thank you for giving me that opportunity. Genuinely.’ Ninon tried to show as much of the sincerity that she felt in her posture and the other woman- Flea- seemed to relent somewhat.

‘Anyone ever tell you you’re a strange sort of noblewoman, Comtesse De Larroque?’ Flea asked.

‘Just Ninon, please. I stopped being a Comtesse when they found me guilty.’

‘Fine, but only if you call me Flea. Your Majesty is a title from out there. It has little meaning in here. No use letting everybody know who’s in charge every second day. I’d have Red Guards following me within a week.’

‘I accept, Flea.’

‘If you don’t mind me asking, are you the first woman to be King of the Court of Miracles?’ Ninon had spent the better part of two days sitting around in Flea’s rooms wondering if she had someone missed something or if her summation of what a woman could and couldn’t do in this society had been so unbelievably corseted by legitimate society that she had missed something huge. Ninon had always believed that the pursuit of all knowledge was a worthy goal, and to this end had cornered Flea with a bottle of red wine that she’d swapped with one of the urchin boys for her reading aloud of a letter from an innkeeper detailing the times and quantities of his deliveries for the next week.

Flea had laughed at her when she’d proudly produced the bottle and told her of her escapades, told her to demand at least triple the price the next time, apologised for making assumptions about her and requisitioned her services for the next few days to read a copy of the customs officers’ ledger that a squad of men had been summarily dispatched to retrieve.

Flea gulped the wine in a way that Ninon would have been scolded for had she still been a child under the tutelage of the ladies of the court and leaned back in her chair, considering.

‘I think there was one in Lille twenty or so years ago, and I know that Mme. DuVin in Bourdeaux is still going strong. Toulouse is run by Paulette and her husband David, but everyone knows she’s the brains of the outfit and that bitch Marie de Limoges has almost as much power in Brittany as her father since his illness. It’s rare for a woman to be in charge of everything in our world, the same as it is in yours, but it’s not unheard of. The Court of Miracles is a place where you can break all of society’s rules if you want to- we don’t answer to nobody but ourselves so we can have whoever we like in charge.’

‘That sounds… I don’t know if it sounds wonderful or terrifying.’

‘It’s both.Freedom usually is’ Flea responded.

‘Is that genuinely how you see it? As freedom?’ Ninon asked, not sure whether she should admire the other woman or be horrified that she saw a life of crime and poverty among what most would consider the dregs of society as freeing. Flea sighed and leant back in her chair, cradling her winecup in her hands as she surveyed the noblewoman over it.

‘You were born into a life of privilege, Ninon De Larroque. You could choose not to marry, to spend you time with long words and concepts and to educate young ladies in your salon because you, unlike the rest of us, had what they call independent means. You had the money to live without needing to rely on a husband. You had a father who taught you to read and write and the stars and the sciences where most girls have a father who teaches them their place as wife and mother, if he teaches them anything at all. You had some freedom because you had money that was really yours- it didn’t belong to a man to be doled out when you’d been a good girl and done as he said.

The freedom here is different. You chose not to conform to what society expects when you didn’t get yourself a husband. We’ve no choice. Here you own what you win, what you earn, regardless of whether man or woman, because we need our women to work for our plays to succeed. None of us were taught to read and to write, to speak about history and poetry and philosophy, but our fathers- those of us who had fathers- and our adopted fathers for those of us who didn’t- taught us just the same as the boys to pick pockets and to run cons and to case houses because they needed children to do those jobs. Those of us that came here at a young age learnt that we had as much value as the boys, because we did. There are no wives here, few mothers, and even fewer households where a woman can be practically confined to household chores without the family starving for the lack of her earnings.

And that doesn’t even count the people who cannot be in your society because of who they are- the addicts and the runaway slaves and the crippled and the orphans and the sodomites and the sinners. Here they are free to be who they are because who are we to judge them- we who sin as frequently as they do.
It is a different world to yours, Ninon. Our freedom from your rules comes because we cannot abide by them.’

‘And would you choose to? If you could? Would you give up this life and its hardships and its pains for a husband and a nice house and a steady income? For some rosy-cheeked babies and sewing circles with the merchants wives, for the excitement of your day to be going to the market or darning your husband’s shirts?’ Ninon asked, hoping against hope that she had guessed the answer right.

‘Not on your life.’ Flea grinned in response. ‘Not when I can have so much fun here.’

Warning for face slapping, liking to give and receive.
(sorry, no idea what that is officially called)

Athos & Aramis are having a blazing row, furious voices and getting in each other's spaces. Aramis makes a particularly scathing and low remark that makes Athos slap him across the face. What Athos is not prepared for is the sudden spark of fierce arousal that blazes with the contact. He is definitely not prepared for Aramis' dark, seductive eyes and dangerously low voice asking him to do it again.

d'Artagnon, sleep deprivation as torture

Date: 2014-10-14 08:39 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
If this has been prompted before, I'm sorry, I haven't read through all the prompts yet.

d'Artagnon is captured and held for whatever reason by whoever. They keep him awake and standing to wear him down; up to author on how they manage this.

By the time the others come rescue him he's been awake for at least a couple of days and is not at his most coherent, but he can't let himself relax, he keeps thinking he has to stay awake. The boys have to help him realize that everything's fine.

I would prefer no actual sex, but I don't mind anyone being in a relationship with anyone else and I don't mind a fade to black situation.

Historically, Cardinal Richelieu was a great cat-lover and owned fourteen by the time of his death. Why haven't we seen any of them on the show? Because every time one is around him, Richelieu just goes gooey over it. It's very difficult to properly menace people when one is cooing over one's cat.

While researching my own upcoming fic featuring our favorite Mother Superior, I was dismayed to discover that the brilliant Gabrielle Reidy, who brought the role to life, died tragically two days ago of a brain tumor at age 54.

In honor of this wonderful actress and her work, I would love to see anything with the Mother Superior and Athos. Flash fic, plotty fic, drabbles-- I don't care. Just give me some more of that gorgeous chemistry that we saw all too briefly on screen.

Such sad news :(
From: (Anonymous)
The Captain of the Kings Musketeers had dealt with many things in his long and glorious career, being in prison, battles, Cardinals, you name it he`s seen and done it.

Until now

Four heavily pregnant, hormonal, irritable, and horny musketeers is something he never thought he`d deal with an NEVER wants to face again!.

The enchanted waters of Bourbourne les eaux did more than get the Queen pregnant, they got Athos, Aramis, Porthos, and d`Artagnan pregnant!.
The inseparables are having each others babies!.

The Cardinal wants them hung for sodomy or burned for witchcraft, The King thinks it is amazing and delightfully entertaining and so forbids any action to be taken against his pregnant male Muksteers!, and Treville is heading for nervous break down and psychotic episode as he is charged with caring for the four pregnant Musketeers which means he has to deal with their back aches, leg cramps, complaints over stretch marks, sore breasts, and seeing them stark naked fornicating in impossible positions to accomadate very large bellies!.

Plus Serge is being run ragged dealing with their cravings, being sent out at all hours to get food and cook for them and God help him if he dos`nt!
And the Red Guards quickly learn than teasing heavily pregnant Musketeers is a Very very bad idea as they are liable to beat you to death with your own leg bones!

I think this is pure crack, but think of all the high jinks!, who`s baby is who`s is up to who fills this!, have fun and crack it up how ever you want!

Bonus D`Art has twins

+1 This is such a cute idea!
From: (Anonymous)
Aramis was working as a paramedic in Chili when he meets an interesting traveling Frenchman. Its not long after that his now 'boyfriend' Marsac convinces him that he should go to Paris with him and become a model, saying that he knows important people there and has already showed them a few pictures of him, flattered and wanting to see Paris, thinking it will be a fun romantic adventure happily agrees.
Unfortunately its all a scheme to get him to Europe, Marsac being part of a smuggling ring trafficking women and men in from South America. For once they get off the plane Marsac drives them to a small rundown apartment block in a bad part of town, and once inside Aramis knows he's made a huge mistake upon seeing the unhappy group of men and women from all over South America inside. His 'boyfriend' shows his true colors then, stealing Aramis passport and money before throwing him in with the others, who now finds himself trapped in Paris with no passport or ID, not knowing anyone and now forced to work for Marsac and his gang. Sometimes patching various people up (usually from fights and gunshot-wounds) who don't want to go to a hospital because their known criminals, and other times as a very high priced escort, the gang taking any and all money he and the others make.

Well Aramis is not going to willingly take this lying down (no pun intended), and as soon as he can, he tries to escape. Managing to knock Marsac out after he was picked up from one of his escort jobs and runs off into the city.

Which is how street-criminal/thief Porthos happens to be out one cold night when he watches a gorgeous dark-eyed Spanish-looking man who wasn't even wearing a proper coat run down the street as if the hounds of hell were at his heels before ducking down an alley and attempting to hide behind a dumpster. No doubt hiding from the lanky and visibly angry man that appears a short time later in pursuit. Porthos has no idea what he's getting into when he decides to help, thinking the gorgeous and clearly scared man was hiding from an abusive ex-boyfriend, but in the end he wont regret it.

Tréville being a little shit when he was younger.

Tréville’s old commander finding out somebody put him in charge and going Well there’s your problem right there THE LUNATIC IS RUNNING THE ASYLUM.

Tréville can keep up with the Inseparables because he did all that shit twenty years ago, he knows all of the tricks. Tréville being as much trouble as the four of them put together. Riding into formation at the last possible second on the bishop’s horse with the bishop still on it. After seducing said bishop and shooting some Spanish soldiers.

The Inseparables being karmatic retribution for all the shit Tréville pulled in his youth.

Tréville going look it was only three buildings and two of them were set on fire as a strategic military decision and the bar wasn’t even my fault.

(bonus points if the bishop in question is a young Richelieu ((he was a bishop at twenty-one historically, I'm sure it could happen)))

It is generally decided that D'Artagnan's pauldron is still too new and shiny and needs breaking in properly, cue the three inseperables fully clothed taking turns (or all at once) on a naked except for his pauldron D'Artagnan

By this point, so many of Richelieu's mistresses have been seduced by musketeers that it's becoming a bit of a joke among the Red Guards that the Cardinal should just sleep with the musketeers himself to save time. Richelieu hears this and decides it's worth trying. Cue Richelieu seducing all four Inseparables on separate occasions.
Bonus points for:
- He gets through all four Inseparables

Bonus points for:
- Treville finding out and being annoyed (and not remotely jealous, nope, why are you smirking at me like that Cardinal Richelieu?)
- No non-con. Consensual seduction just seems so much funnier.

Origin Story: How Treville met the Inseparables

From: (Anonymous)
I have no idea if this has been requested before or not, but I'd love a story about how Treville met each of the boys and convinced them to join the regiment. Or to stick around until it was officially formed, anyway.

Maybe he met a young Aramis, who was still grieving the loss Isabelle and their child, during the Siege of Montauban and was impressed by his skill with a musket, his ruthlessness on the battlefield and the care he showed his friends.

Maybe he met Porthos, angry at his lot in life and the injustice the world had shown him, during an incognito mission involving card tricks and a rather spectacular tavern brawl, and was taken in by his passion, strength and quick wit.

Maybe he knew Athos from court, and had witnessed his skill with a blade and calm, strategic mind first hand. Only to have his offer of a position in the regiment turned down because Athos was set to spent a quiet, peaceful life at la Fere with his wife. Until Treville stumbles upon a grim and cynical man that has lost all hopes of quiet and peaceful but not his skills with a blade and as a leader some years later.

Or something along those lines. Basically, I want Treville saving the Inseparables from themselves and giving them a place to belong. Could be a 3+1 kind of thing, maybe. With the +1 being Treville musing on how their joining the regiment has changed Athos, Porthos and Aramis. Or, alternatively, the +1 could be how Treville got into soldiering and became captain of the Musketeers. Extra bonus points if you include Marsac, Treville and Richelieu silently fighting over recruits, or Treville being secretly awesome at politicking, even though he doesn't much like it. (For fans of the novels, including d’Artagnan’s father as Treville's friend and brother in arms would be much appreciated as well.)

This is lovely! I'd love to see this filled.

Not sure if you've read this, but there is such a fic for how Treville recruited Porthos on Ao3:

Porthos's cheating, Aramis's paying

Date: 2014-10-20 04:43 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
Porthos has often troubles with his cheating in taverns (as in 1., episode - fight). Red Guards (or just men he plays with) want him to stop and they decide make him. After some failed attempts (maybe some threats) they find out what can force Porthos play fair. Maybe they saw him with his best friend Aramis. Maybe if they beat him, Porthos will stop with cheating.

Title is enough. :D

Sorry for my English, please don't be angry for bad words in this prompt.

OK, someone had to do this after a recent tumblr post and I know this is officially a BBC Musketeers kinkmeme, but its time to mess with our childhood. I dare any to do a 'Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds' slashfic!

All pairings welcome, must have slash! Oh, and before I forget, feel free to switch dog Porthos and Athos, I always thought that was a mess up when it came to the cartoon.

My head (and childhood) have now sufficiently been messed with!

I also now have the theme song running through my head, so thanks for that :)

The boys are injured and unarmed and their only option is to run and hide, with only each other to rely on while they get weaker and their pursuers close in.

A scene I'd love is the four of them crammed into some small hiding hole while the enemy are just outside, all pressed together and knowing if theyre discovered they wont be able to survive, D'Artagnan with his face pressed into the chest of one of the others to muffle his haggard breathing

A grown up d`Artagnan (can be bromance or slash)

Date: 2014-10-21 10:06 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
The Musketeers always seem to treat d`Art as the baby brother, the puppy, and whelp of he regiment and he tolerates it to a point, but then things change.

For three months he is sent on a temporary posting to La Rochelle where due to circumstances he "Grows up" when he returns to Paris he`s an older and much more mature d`Artagnan, perhaps dealing with some hauntings from bad battles, but he`s far less the cocky rooky who left Paris three months prior.

Athos, Aramis, and Porthos still treat him the same, as their whelpy little brother, which starts to grate on d`Artagnan who has gained immense respect from the soldiers in La Rochelle.

Inevitably it leads to bust up between them, with d`Artagnan saying if they don`t start treating him like an adult then he`ll take perminant asigment in La Rochelle because he`s sick of being treated like a child.

Now the inseparables have to repair the damage they have done or kiss goodbye to their fourth for good.

Long one kinda sorta.

D'Artagnan has proven himself to be steady and reliable and loyal - has proven his capability even to the king by defeating LaBarge. His confidence is growing but he still struggles with that edge of self-doubt and with letting his heart push him towards passionate/reckless decisions. Even though Athos, Porthos, and Aramis seem convinced he is progressing well, and Athos has told him that he's more like him than not, d'Artagnan sees Aramis's steady unflinchingness, Porthos's solid strength, and Athos's calm skill, and he worries he'll not truly be able to measure up in the long run.

On a mission, the four encounter a situation that really affects d'Artagnan and gets under his skin. I'm thinking they're out on a mission and something with violence towards children, and he loses it and does something reckless that compromises the Musketeers' position (even something simple like he did in Friends and Enemies - running out before Aramis gave the signal).

After all is said and done, he's horrified that he let himself get so affected/angry that the others seem so impassive and callous/horrified that he could have got them killed while at the same time doubting his ability to develop that kind of calm. And this all kinda bursts out of him as he yells at them/himself/the world. Letting him yell, the others don't say anything until maybe Athos steps in and orders him (gently) to take a walk and cool off.

Later, as the adrenaline cools the four sit for a drink or meal, and d'Artagnan realizes they *are* affected. They admit as much while assuring him the calm in battle will get easier with time, but they hope he'll never not be affected. Then perhaps they tell him a few stories of a few times they (individually or together) struggled with what their emotions told them to do, or they share moments when they were weak and needed their brothers to pick up the slack.

Sorry for the length - this one has been spinning in my head for a while.

Porthos's Triggers 3+1 or 5+1

I am all about the boys' emotions today. Can I get three times that Porthos was provoked and just went absolutely berserk?

Extra love from me if one of those times he went berserk was because Athos and Aramis were being threatened.

Extra Extra love if we get some BROT3/4 h/c with Porthos on the receiving end.

Someone slanders Aramis and suggests to Porthos that Aramis is not worthy of his friendship and should be written off as unreliable.

This is the exact *wrong* thing to say to Porthos.
