The three musketeers, when they first met d'Argetan, just assumed that he was in his late twenties to early thirties or so when they met, and d'Argetan has never realized this. Maybe it can be because people are forced to mature faster in the country, and he isn't that shocked when people ask if he was married, or had children or something. It turns out that he is actually something like 16 when his father dies. Plz give me completely shocked musketeers, and a bit of guilt at what he has gone through so young.
bonus: One (or all!) of the musketeers have fantasized, and maybe even had sex with d'Argetan, and now they feel like a dirty old cradle robber. d'Argetan tries to fix this notion :)
