Is anyone else just serious "Done" with the King right now?, he whines like a spoiled child being denied treats!, blames everyone else for his OWN mistakes!, his Son was dangerously ill so he goes and screws Milady!, and instead of being thankful that his best soldiers were relatively unhurt, and that the Spanish too have lost the Cypher, he throws another temper tantrum and sucks up to Rochefort!.

The Musketeers tell the king to SHOVE IT!
After another of these missions goes wrong, or dos`nt go how the King wanted it to, and they are stood there getting another dressing down, they all finally snap, give the king a mouthful over the "Real" reason no one respects him is, and why his people have no faith in him, tell him to shove his commissions and leave.
They head to Athos lands where the manor is in the process of rebuilding, to evalluate their lives and what they`ll do.
After some deliberation they decided to keep doing what they do best, help people, stop the bad guys, and where they can deliver justice.
In a sense they be a seventeenth century A-Team, soldiers for hire, but with principles, not vigilante`s or mercenaries. They still carry the code of honour, they are simply not bound to a child like ungrateful fool of a king!.
As their reputation and appreciation from the French citizens grows, so do their relationships.
Treville had always been aware of Athos, Aramis and Porthos bedding each other, and hardly batted an eye lid when d`Artagnan joined them in their polyamorous relationship, but now......well they`ve been looking his way a whole lot!, and he is`nt sure but he though he saw Aramis Leer!, and d`Artagnan lick his lips at him!.

As their reputation amongst France`s Poeple grow, the King learns of them, and is melancholy for the loss of the people who were perhaps the closest to friends he ever had.
Treville needing some coaxing to join the four sum, and OT4 seduce and coax him until he is an aching, leaking, and pleading mess!.

Pretend Anne and Aramis never slept together to the baby is the Kings.
Whether or not the King goes to try and bring them back to be his Musketeers is up the filler.
