fill-a-thon and spoilers policy for season 2

So. As season 2 of the Musketeers is starting in 6 days (!!!!), I've decided to launch a quick last-minute fill-a-thon. So the current round of prompts will be closed for new prompts until 2nd January, when the new season starts. And then we fill fill fill.

Now, we're also going to need some kind of spoiler policy for the new episodes. I thought of two possibilities.

1. We just have a big spoiler policy for the entire 2nd season until like after a week after it finishes airing. However that means until after the ten new episodes have aired, every single prompt pertaining to season 2 will need a spoiler warning.

2. We just have spoiler warnings until the next episode airs. Like you have to warn for spoilers for season 2 episode 1 until season 2 episode 2 has aired and so forth.

I'd love if I could get some intput on this so we have a decision by the time we need it.

I'm so excited!!

Whilst I personally think that the responsibility for avoiding spoilers sits with the individual who doesn't want to see them and you'd be pretty daft to come here if you're behind on the episodes, I also think that writing 'spoiler warning for s2' in the subject line won't be a hardship for any of us.

So, I vote for the first. The second option will be confusing because I believe that it's airing in the US two weeks after the UK so when the next episode airs is different for all of us. Just saying that we put spoiler warnings for all season 2 up until whatever decided date, seems a lot simpler.

Haha. Honestly, I agree about the spoiler thing. From a common sense point of view there's a lot I'd like to leave up to people's personal responsibility. But from a mod perspective, it's easier to have a spoiler policy than dealing with the wank over spoilers.

Thanks for letting me know about the US. I have no idea when they're airing what tbh. I'm mostly just glad Musketeers is one of the very few of my shows I have real-time access to.

Can the free-for-all prompt post still be a choose-not-to-warn experience, even for spoilers? (my preference)

I do think having a spoiler warning policy for the other thread is a good idea. Agreed that, this being the case, option one is better than two.

I think curiosity will get the better of most people anyway, but maybe shortening the warning to a simple moniker like SW S2 ? or S2S so people can make up their own minds.

If I were a newbie to the list, I'd probably have no idea what SW or S2S meant, and I'm lousy at figuring out acronyms anyway. But I'm cool with just putting "Spoilers" in the subject line. No different than putting "Non-con" or something like that.

I agree that participating here probably means you should probably put any aversion to spoilers aside. :)

However, understanding that can't always be the case, I vote for option one, with just "Spoilers" or "Spoilers S2" or "Spoilers ep 14" or whatever in the subject line. With no warnings needed for the free-for-all thread, spoilers or otherwise, to stay true to its purpose.

I agree with what seems to be the prevailing opinion-- overarching spoiler warning for series 2, rather than individual episodes, and no spoiler warnings in the Free-for-All post.

However, if you'd like to cover the Americans on the meme, it might be nice to extend the warning period for at least two or three weeks after the final episode airs in the UK, rather than one. As someone else pointed out, BBC America will be airing the series starting on January 17th.

I'd prefer heavy spoiler warnings, but with 2-3 weeks after each episode for the sake of us non-Brits watching (not just Americans).

Yes, it's obvious there will be spoilers, and the books were published 200+ years ago so we should all know how the story ends (riiiiight?), but many are and will be looking for prompts/posting prompts and fills from season 1 still. So be kind, please spoiler warn? ;)

Okay, something that just occurred to me after reading the previous response... no idea if it would be more or less of a pain to enforce.

What about closing Round three early? Then a person who didn't want to be spoiled and was looking for Series 1 prompts could browse Rounds one, two, and three to their hearts content, in relative safety.

Round four could still require general Series 2 spoiler warnings.

I'm not sure closing round 3 would really work, or really I think it might just complicate the whole thing, since fills from the earlier rounds could ostensibly still contain spoilers, and therefore would need spoiler warnings.

I think a blanket policy is going to be easier for the mod, and the participates, rather than trying to delineate so specifically. Which is my I'm more for the option that requires spoiler warnings until the entire season is over (for both the US and UK), rather than trying to go episode by episode.

Since they're really not following the books, I don't think we need to worry about the book spoiling anything. :) So, agreed, spoiler warnings are very doable.

Ok, so we are having a blanket season 2 spoiler warning.So if your prompt does pertain to season 2, warn, if it's still for season 1, no need.

Spoiler warnings are also mandatory on the Free For All round. It's supposed to be a place for people's kinks which they feel are more out-there, but some of those people will also want to remain spoiler-free.

And I'll go reopen the round now. Can't wait to read all the new prompts.

Question: Do I put "S2 spoilers" in the subject line and nothing else, if what I'd usually put into the subject line could be considered a spoiler? How finicky are we being about this? Does a pairing featuring an S2 character constitute a spoiler I need to keep out of the subject line?

I'm not going to be too finicky about this, if it's just the name of a character. Just like put S2 spoilers, pairing, etc or something.

I know quite alot of them here went up over at Archive where I finished reading them.
Just curious as especially S3 is around the corner.
