Welcome to the BBC The Musketeers kink meme

The lowdown: You post your prompt, anon or not. Someone else will hopefully fill it (also anon or not). Not for profit, just for fun. And in this case, for king and country.

Anon is on, IP logging is off.

No wank
No kink-shaming
Be respectful to everyone
The mod is not your babysitter
Use the warnings

Mandatory trigger warnings/warnings for both prompts and fills:
abuse (physical and mental)
issues such as racism, sexism, homo-/trans-/-bi-/ace-phobia etc
character death
eating disorders
extreme physical or mental illness
substance abuse (alcohol, drugs, medication)
gore and horror

If this list misses anything, do let me know, though please understand that if absolutely everything is added this list will never end.

You are encouraged and advised to add additional warnings at your own discretion.

Please make use of the subject line.

If your prompt alludes to the book or any of the other adaptations, please let us know which one.

Lastly, prompt freezes (which I have to say I’m really not fond of) etc will be at the mod’s discretion. I will decide on a prompt cut-off point for prompt posts once I know how fast the meme moves.

Rule addition: No more discussions on the prompt post. If you want to discuss something, we have a discussion post. If you want to wank about a prompt, that's not what the discussion post is for. That's what your scroll bar and that little red x in the top corner of your browser is for.

Discussion post:

Official fill post (I strongly suggest you use it for better visibility of your fills):

An AU where Gascony was once its own independent country, but has very recently been overthrown by France.

Of the large Gascon royal family, only Prince Charles survived and escaped. He was only five or so at the time, and was raised by the stable hand entrusted to smuggle him out to safety.

Aramis was there and took part in helping smuggle young Charles to safety, only about thirteen years old himself.

D'Artagnan doesn't remember and believes himself to be the poor son of a farmer. Aramis however, does. It takes him a while, but slowly he realises that D'Artagnan is the very same little boy he helped rescue fifteen years ago.

I've read stories with the four of them with sub D'artagnan.

But I would like to read a story where Aramis is the sub with two or three doms.

I'd prefer no slash between them but if you want to throw in some OT3 or another pairing, feel free.

Any/Any, conveniently-placed headwear

Someone walks into their bedroom to find their significant other wearing nothing but a strategically-positioned Musketeer hat. Hijinks and/or sexytimes ensue.

This anon's preferred pairing is Aramis/Porthos, but any combination of two or more Musketeers (+ Constance if you like) would be awesome :D

I'm not (too) ashamed to admit that I get all hot and bothered at the scene where Athos realizes Vadim's bomb is about to go off and screams/pushes Porthos aside to safety before they both fall down. So! I would love to read any scenario that picks after that, except that once dust settles, Athos doesn't wake up -- he's seriously hurt from being blown up, though Porthos is mostly intact because Athos shielded him.

Aramis, the designated caretaker of the trio, is panicking; Porthos is a wreck because Athos was hurt trying to protect him, and d'Artagnan is feeling beyond guilty because he couldn't stop Vadim despite the fact that he'd repeatedly insisted to Athos that he'd got this -- and it turned out he didn't.

I'd love to read them moping around and tending to Athos, and I would love any and all pairings (or gen). Though I'm slightly more partial to Athos/d'Artagnan, because d'Artagnan would be totally a kicked puppy in this scenario. <3

Lets have D`Artagnan as the (Bride)
Athos as the (Groom)
Treville giving D`Artagnan away
Porthos as head Usher
Aramis as best man
Constance as Matron of honner (She can`t be maid of honner as she`s married)

The reason Aramis sleeps around? Because he's searching for the right one. Whether the right one is one of Porthos/Athos or both or even OT4 I'll leave to the author. I'm looking for Aramis whump! Either he doesn't realise what's in front of him, or thinks his feeling are unrequited. Either is good.

To make me extra happy, this as a D/s scenario with sub!Aramis would make me a very happy anon.

Instead of mortally wounding Vadim, what if d`Artagnan only gave him a flesh wound that bled alot but Vadim was able to escape dumping the treasure and running for it, so he could get patched up.

Several months later, fully healed and seriously pissed off Vadim is out for revenge on the one who caused him to loose everything d`Artagnan.

He abducts d`Artagnan either form the Musketeers garrison or Bonacieux and takes him somewhere perhaps the catacombs where he makes d`Artagnan pay for betraying him.

The Musketeers set out to rescue their kidnapped friend, Athos epecialy as he and d`Artagnan are now in a relationship which began after the fire at La Fare.

Really wanting to see a vengfull deranged Vadim enacting all his rage on d`Artagnan.
Musketeers being horrified and furrious when they find them and see whats been done to d`Artagnan, then seriously comforting Athos after he`s gone Psychopathic homocidal maniac on Vadim.

Filler can choose to be explicit or mild with Non Con and torture

In one of the interviews, Howard (who plays Porthos) mentioned that he really enjoyed how Porthos wasn't just "the fat one". I'm sure his comment was meant jokingly, but I'd really like a fic where Porthos is maybe a bit heavier (or gaining weight or something? or USED to be heavier?) and so he's super self conscious about it? and aramis lets him know that he's perfect the way he is <3

could be modern, could be canon verse, could be established relationship or first time, I don't care :) i jsut really want some porthos appreciation up in here :)

I think that's in reference to other versions of the Three Musketeers, where Porthos gets basically zero actual characterization besides "oh, he's the fat comic relief one". Whereas Howard's Porthos gets to be an epic badass cutie and I love him.

That said I would love to see Aramis making Porthos feel good about himself. :D

Richelieu/Louis, Mpreg

Date: 2014-03-15 05:46 am (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
We've seen the whole Anne had an affair and gets pregnant angle, but how about if Louis has one and gets knocked up? He and Richelieu were probably being very cautious, but accidents happen. Richelieu really can't bring himself to feel too bad about it. After all, a child of his and the king's was quite a child (as long as it took after him, Louis was a dear boy, but a bit on the dull side). The biggest problem will be hiding the pregnancy until the child is born and they can claim it is Anne's.

Gen, Aramis+Pastor Ferrand

Date: 2014-03-15 12:49 pm (UTC)
From: (Anonymous)
I am convinced that Aramis - after clearing up the murder mystery and rescuing Porthos - went back to Ferrand to tell him who killed de Mauvoisin Junior.
Maybe they start a discussion about religion , maybe they bond over the fact that they are both warriors and have killed people for king and country, maybe Ferrand needs help to get rid of the gunpowder still stored in his cellar.

I just want some friendship or even just mutual respect blooming between the two of them - if you wanna include some deeply spiritual snogging, go for it. XD

This ran away from me a bit, hope it works for you.

How they met D'Artagnan

D’Artagnan watched the circus setting up from the top of the hill. Maribel shifted underneath him and he soothed her absently. The last time the circus had come to the village, over two years ago, both his parents had still been alive. Now he was on his own. Uncle Marcel didn’t count and he had no intention of staying on the farm to watch his parents’ hard work ruined by the man’s incompetent hand. The circus had fascinated him last time and now it was to be his chance to travel the country while still earning money.

He watched the first few acts disinterestedly. They were good, excellent in fact, but he wanted the three acts he’d been captivated by last time to start. He sat up straighter when one of the men he remembered sauntered into the ring. He was tall and lithely muscled, clad only in loose britches. He bowed as the ringleader, a man by the name of Captain Treville who d’Artagnan knew he’d have to win over, announced his corde lisse act.

D’Artagnan watched spellbound along with the rest of the crowd as the man (Aramis, he repeated to himself) performed. He climbed the rope a couple of feet off the floor before wrapping it around his body and arching outwards into a multitude of arabesques. The crowd gasped, d’Artagnan included, each time he twisted into a new shape or dropped even inches down the rope. D’Artagnan clapped vigorously when Aramis finally dropped from his rope the last time. He watched as he left the ring, clasping the man about to enter on the shoulder as he passed.

The man who walked to the centre of the ring d’Artagnan remembered the name of, purely because Charlotte, his younger cousin, had sighed about him for at least a week after the circus had left last time. He was Porthos, the circus’s strongman, taller than Aramis and massively built with skin the colour of milky coffee. He was dressed simply; loose britches like those Aramis wore although he also wore a loose shirt as well as boots. His act was simple too but just as breathtaking as the other man’s had been. Porthos could lift a fully loaded cart clean over his head and bend metal bars like they were straw. D’Artagnan sighed as the man took his final bow, knowing he could never, no matter how much he tried, possess that much strength.

He fell back into his head as the show continued, not really taking anything more in until Captain Treville announced the last act: Athos the lion tamer, with his cats, Atticus, Cleo and Ophelia. This had been the act that had enthralled him the most last time, Charlotte teasing him for his glazed look after it had finished. But Athos had seemed so in control and appeared to have no fear of these animals that could rip out his throat in a heartbeat, who wouldn’t respect that? This time was no different; Athos controlled his lions with quiet words and tiny hand gestures, the great cats happy to perform on his command.

When he was done Athos bowed, the three lions following suit, and left the ring to thunderous applause, the cats trailing him docilely. The crowd started to disperse, chattering excitedly about the feats they had just witnessed, and d’Artagnan followed, weaving through the throng and slipping into the performers’ area without question.

He got as far as the collection of caravans before someone called out to him. He hesitated for a moment, before turning to face the owner of the voice.
A woman stood glaring up at him, “You shouldn’t be here. Who are you?”
“My apologies Madame, I was hoping to speak with Captain Treville.” D’Artagnan smiled, hoping it would ease her glare but the woman just looked him over suspiciously and shook her head.
“Whatever it is it’ll have to wait for morning.” Something must have shown in d’Artagnan’s face because her next words were softer. “Come back tomorrow and I’ll introduce you to the Captain myself.” She offered her hand.
D’Artagnan’s smile returned and he bowed over it, delighting in the small laugh she let out at the gesture. “And you would be?”
“Madame Bonacieux, seamstress of this fine establishment.” She waved her hand around, something about the gesture at once fond and mocking. “Your name?”
“My name is d’Artagnan, Madame.” He bowed once more and she shoved at him, smiling.
She walked away, pausing to call back over her shoulder, “Return in the morning, d’Artagnan and I’ll see what I can do.”

As instructed d’Artagnan returned to the circus camp early the next morning. He was so early in fact there seemed to be no one yet about. He hovered on the outskirts uncertain until a snicker from Maribel prompted him forward. He’d got halfway around the male lion’s cage when the big cat noticed him and rumbled a warning. D’Artagnan jumped and then froze when he noticed Athos lying against the lion’s side watching him.

No one moved for a long moment before Athos spoke, “What are you doing here boy?”
“Um,” d’Artagnan sputtered, eyes casting around frantically as he searched for words. His eyes caught on the bottle grasped loosely in the other man’s hand until another rumble from the cat snapped his gaze back up to his face. Athos was regarding him, his face blank. “Um, Madame Bonacieux told me to return this morning.” His voice rose as though he was asking Athos that this was true and he cleared his throat, his cheeks flushing. “I wanted to speak to Captain Treville.” He continued, his voice more certain.

Before Athos could answer the woman in question called out a greeting to them both. D’Artagnan turned to watch her hurry over to them, still pulling on her shawl.
“You came back.” She eyed him appraisingly and then turned to glare down at the man in the cage. “You should go inside, Aramis and Porthos will be fretting.” Her tone was fond exasperation and d’Artagnan was left with the impression it was a common refrain, an impression confirmed when Athos rolled his eyes. He then rolled with surprising grace out of the cage, sauntering off towards the caravans with a lazy wave. “Ready?” Madame Bonacieux was watching him when he turned back to her and he wondered whether his hero worship was visible on his face. He rather thought it might be when she laughed at him before steering him towards Treville’s dwellings.

D’Artagnan stomped back to Maribel trying to cool his temper. The meeting with Captain Treville had not gone as he’d hoped. The man had been apologetic but firm: they had no room for another act at the moment and most likely would not be looking for one in the near future. He growled, thumping his fist into the tree Maribel was tethered to, and then apologised to her when she fidgeted.

He took a deep breath and turned to face Madame Bonacieux once more.
She searched his face and sighed. “I’m sorry. I take it your meeting did not go as you hoped.”
“It’s not your fault, you gave me the opportunity to speak with him.” He petted Maribel, hiding his face in her mane. “Why did you help me anyway?” he asked after a pause.
She sighed again. “All of us here are running from something. You looked like you’d fit.”
He gave her a brief smile. “How astute of you.” He looked away again, gazing unseeingly at the village not far away. “I can’t stay here.” He mumbled mostly to himself.
Madame Bonacieux regarded him sadly and gave his arm a squeeze. “Don’t give up. Maybe you’ll find a way.”
“Thank you Madame.” He pressed her hand and then swung up onto Maribel’s back. He nodded down at her. “For everything.”

If Madame Bonacieux and Athos noticed the figure on horseback trailing their retinue on the way to their next stop neither of them mentioned it.

Whooping and clapping caught Treville’s attention as he made his way towards the big top. He diverted his path and came to rest next to Athos. The other man was leaning against a fence post watching the spectacle before them passively.
“Is that the boy who came by asking for a job at the last village?” Treville asked neutrally.
Athos looked over at him before nodding once and turning back. Treville grunted but said no more, observing silently.

D’Artagnan was in his element. Every laugh and gasp fed his exhilaration and he used it to create all the more elaborate tricks. He and Maribel worked well, the mare letting him hang off her side, swing around her neck and do handstands on her back while she cantered steadily around the circle. He finished with a double somersault off her back; Maribel bending her front legs as if bowing before him. The crowd cheered and he grinned catching Madame Bonacieux’s eye where she stood at the edge of the circle. She laughed and shook her head at him.

“The boy’s good.” Athos commented, pushing off the fence post. Treville raised his eyebrows and Athos just stared back for a moment before walking away. Treville shook his head after the man, returning to contemplating d’Artagnan. Athos was right, although he had a gift for understating things. He sighed; the boy was better than good and they didn’t have a trick rider at present.

Athos watched Treville and the boy talk from his perch in the open door of Cleo and Ophelia’s cage, the boy’s grin widening the longer they did. A low growl from Atticus at his feet warned of his friends’ approach so he didn’t start when an arm wrapped around his waist, Aramis pressing both himself to his side and a kiss to his cheek.
“That the boy who followed us from the last village?” Porthos asked from where he stood a couple of feet away eyeing Atticus. Athos glanced over at him, startled. Porthos looked up and grinned, “yeah we noticed.”
“You said nothing.”
Aramis shrugged, his chin digging into Athos’s shoulder. “You didn’t either. And he was practicing his tricks on the way. He’s good.”
“Constance thought he’d fit. You spoke to Treville. That’s reason enough for us,” added Porthos, finally edging his way around the lazing lion and sitting on Athos’s other side. Athos hummed, knowing he should be unsurprised by their faith in him, but even after five years he still was. Porthos slung an arm around his shoulder, hand tangling in Aramis’s hair, and then jumped when Ophelia bumped his shoulder. Aramis buried his face into Athos’s neck, laughing, which earned him a slap up the head, while Athos just shook his head, his lips twitching minutely at their actions.

D’Artagnan grinned down at the three men waiting for him as he left the big top. Maribel snorted, tossing her head at Atticus who was sitting placidly at Athos’s feet paying the horse no attention. D’Artagnan soothed her and she settled, allowing him to slip from her back and accept the wine bottle Porthos passed him.
“Not bad for a first performance,” Aramis laughed. He ruffled the younger man’s hair causing him to bat him away as they wandered towards the lions’ cages so he could rub down Maribel and Athos could collect Ophelia and Cleo ready for his act.
“It was good?” D’Artagnan glanced at all three of them for confirmation. Aramis laughed again while Athos favoured him a small nod. D’Artagnan felt a small glow of pride at that, already realising that from the stoic lion tamer that was high praise indeed. He burst out laughing when Porthos grabbed him in a loose headlock and scrubbed a hand through his hair. “You did good,” Porthos affirmed.

“Leave the boy alone.” Madame Boncieux’s exasperated voice cut through the air resulting in Porthos releasing him, both of them still laughing. “He’s only just got here and already you’re corrupting him.”
“We would never.” Aramis put his hand over his heart, an affronted expression on his face that was belied by the twinkling of his eyes. Madame Bonacieux rolled her eyes, as did Athos, while Porthos snorted with laughter.
“I don’t mind Madame.” D’Artagnan struggled to wipe the smile off his face, but his jubilance was hard to contain. “They’re welcome to corrupt me all they want.”
Madame Bonacieux sighed, throwing her hands in the air. “Be careful what you wish for. And I told you to call me Constance.”
“Constance.” D’Artagnan bowed at her, causing her to blush faintly and scoff at him. Porthos positively howled with laugher, Aramis joining in, while even Athos was hard pressed to keep a smile off his face.

D’Artagnan settled into his life at Le Cirque des Mousquetaires quickly and soon had Treville wondering why he had ever agreed to let the boy stay. Athos, Aramis and Porthos had been enough trouble before d’Artagnan and the addition of the younger man had seemed to triple their aptitude for wrecking havoc. Admittedly the trouble was never devastating and Constance was more than capable of keeping them in line. Treville sighed and rubbed at his forehead as something went crashing down outside his window. He ignored it and went back to his paperwork. Oh well, at least they kept life interesting.

D'Artagnan has never smoked before so Porthos teaches him how via shotgunning.
