Please make use of the subject line.

If your prompt alludes to the book or any of the other adaptations, please let us know which one.

Lastly, prompt freezes (which I have to say I’m really not fond of) etc will be at the mod’s discretion. I will decide on a prompt cut-off point for prompt posts once I know how fast the meme moves.

Announcement: A blanket spoiler warning is necessary for prompts pertaining to season 2. Just season 2 Spoilers in the subject line will do.

Alternative Pursuits: cultural or otherwise

We know Athos drinks, and Aramis enjoys the company of women, and that Porthos enjoys gambling, and they all do their musketeering thing and then perhaps hang out in taverns after work.

Now I'd like to see some of their potential alternative pursuits and interests explored. Maybe Aramis and Porthos love art and architecture, and Athos knows a lot about it, so they make regular trips to different locations all around Paris to look at churches and windows and buildings and paintings and statues and gardens.

If they're away from Paris on a mission and they can fit it in they'll take the time to explore what the area they're in has to show them. Perhaps when they're sitting around they get into discussions on art's affect on the soul and humanity. Or meet in Athos's rooms regularly to read new literature together.

D'Artagnan comes along and is surprised or charmed when they invite him to come with them at the end of the day and realizes they're not just going to a tavern to hang out.

And it doesn't have to be this. There are other possibilities, obviously. I think it's possible Aramis may have been in attendance regarding the salon culture at the time, and dragged the others when he could. Maybe Porthos loves to attend the theatre, has a favorite dramatist, and drags the others along. Or loves traveling bards and makes sure they see them, and Athos loves Jeu de Paume (17th century French form of indoor tennis) and talks them into playing it when they ever get the chance (all while pretending it doesn't matter that much to him if they play with him or not). ;)

You get the idea. I just want to see other pursuits and passions and interests explored.

This idea is growing on me. Aramis making them all listen to his favorite literary articles. Porthos has a favorite artist. Athos loves the gardens. They spend hours debating architecture. So many possibilities to imagine.
